Thanks for the input. I thought that it could be either the hard drive, cdrom or actual cd. It is not the cd I hope cause three bad cds is really unlikely. But I tried installing using both my dvd rom (Pioneer 106) and cdrw (Iomega 12X10X32X) and same problem. I have reinstalled 98 with no problem. Only happens with the XP
 
Anybody else. It really sucks having XP and not being able to use it. I have never had this kind of problem before.
 
Which IDE channel are you using for the install. I find I have alot of difficulty trying to install on the Promise
or Highpoint Raid Channels. Try the regular ide channel and at default settings not overclocked.
 
I normally have my my HD on the RAID channel but when I install any OS I set it back on the regular IDE channel. even moved it from primary master to secondary master still won't work.
