I was going to cheap out and just upgrade, but I couldn't resist going going for a new rig with the following:

Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P AM3
Phenom II x3 720BE 65W
8GB 1333MHz DDR3
2 x Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB 32MB SATA3 7200RPM HDD in RAID 1
Antec 1200 Case (Air Cooled...5-6 fans)
Logitech MX5500 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Sapphire Toxic 4870 1GB DDR5 (factory oc'ed)

I want to use the modular 620W Corsair PSU
but I have the feeling it might just be a smidge too small.
Any thoughts?

NO WAY!!!!

Its far to small to power that system. You should sell that worthless thing to me for say, 20 bucks? Then get you a new bigger one 🙂

J/K. It will work fine. I am running that same PSU with a

DFI 790FX board
PhenomII 940 BE overclocked to 3.5
4 Gigs 1066
150 gig RaptorX
2 WD 640's running raid 1
Silverstone TJ06 w/4 fans
Sidwinder gaming mouse
Asus 4870 DK 1 Gig
2 Burners, 1 DVD sata and a CDrw/IDE

Runs it all just fine, and very quietly as well.
