61' C hot for a SATA drive?

after going sata, i won't be going back . .

1. The old hard drive (which was brand new) was NOT hot to the touch, on any component. Warm.
2. SATA for PATA - other than the cool cables with SATA, I don't notice a darn difference in performance.

Then it was a bad thermal sensor or S.M.A.R.T. reporting error.

Hi, Rotax has some good points there, but you can blow all the air you want over a device and if the air in the case is not being replaced rapidly you wont cool the device. Make sure you are blowing about half the fans out and the rest in. Jim
