Oh, one more thing came to mind.

I lived in the Wash. D.C. area and I read an article in the paper about 5 or 6 years ago about a guy who had a mid-60s Chevy II. I think he only had about $5,000 invested in the car because he did a lot of the engine work himself. He'd take his car to the drag strips in the area (Bud's Creek in Maryland?) and race middle-aged men with their $50,000 corvettes - which he'd beat the tar out of. Pretty impressive for a car with such little invested in it.

That must have been a nice Duster Pez. I'd like to 391's for my car to light em' up. My favorite cars are:

1971 Plymouth Cuda 340 4-Speed (Black preferable)
1970 Dodge Challenger 4-Speed (Black, Shaker hood preferable)
1970 AAR Cuda (Silver with the Black stripes = bust a nut)
1969 Dodge Charger 440

But once again, if I made a game, would the kids being born now or in the past few years be interested in it?

How about the Super Bee? Essentially, the same body and engine as the Road Runner, but it had the large wing on the rear. What a piece of art!

That sounds like a great idea for a game :) There's always a lot of interest in muscle cars. Dream cars more like it, they are so cool. Beautiful shapes and fast engines. I love the 442 and dated a guy with a Hurst Olds once, gawd he loved that car.

I saw a really cool car for sale, not too steep $7000.00, and I'd love to get it, but I don't know anything about it. It's an early 60s Chrysler Newport. Not a speed demon I'm sure, but what a funky looking car!
The body and interior are both in excellent condition too.

Do any of you car guys know anything about this car?

i LOVE old muscle. The sound of a V8 with open headers gives me a stiffy every time ;) there's a guy with a metallic blue nova ss running around here with cherry bombs and a jacked up rear end, what looks like 310's on the rear end, and a huge cam. When he breaks those huge tires loose you know there's serious power under that hood :D

unfortunatly, living in a place where snow is on the ground fo rhalf the year doesn't lend itself to sheet metal, and any classics around here had a LOT of money spent on them to get them and keep them in good, non rusted condition. Salt sucks :|

Wow, that was fast :)

Was it a good car? Any problems? Was it fun to drive? The paint is all excellent, I think it's original, does it matter if it is? Are they collectable? I've never heard of them before I spotted this one.

Everyone should own a 60s/70s muscle car just to see what it's like to drive a true muscle with more horsepower then watts.

I myself have a 455ci oldsmobile that I have owned for more then 20 years.

Me....will....own...442 Cutlass....eventually....dammit!!

My dream weekend hoopdy. :)

Mine is a 1971 cutlass that has all the 442 goodies on it. It has the ram air hood and deck lid spoiler. All emblems have been shaved and it's painted 1998 trans am red. It has a 455/turbo 400 3000 stall and a 12 bolt 4:10 gear.

I'll try to post some pictures.
**COUGH!***HACK!**thhhppppt!**:Q:Q

You actually own that wood-inspiring shopping list?

Bastard!! My cup overfloweth with envy. :|

I've been meaning to post pictures every time I see a "post your cars picture thread" but never have. It has just about everything done to it but have the car off the frame. I'm at the end though. I'm putting in new door panals and putting a new cover on the rear seat.

when I built the motor I called Joe Mondello and asked him if he knew of any engine builders in my area and sure enough there was a friend he raced with and is still good friends with that lives just a few miles from me. So my engine was built by a true oldsmobile builder and not just some machine shop. My first couple engines lasted only a few years becasue of this.

Last year I added some Edelbrock aluminum heads that I got from Joe. They were cryogenicly frozen units. Supposedly it releaves stress as well as an extra few hundred dollars.

Anyways, glad to see I'm not the only olds fan here.

My uncle has a 69 Dodge Charger with the 440 Magnum in it. He lost his license four or five years ago from a DWI. The car can't be registered or insured by my Uncle since he doesn't have a valid license. It's just sat in the back of the garage covering in dust. The black paint used to sparkle and the interior and engine bay were fairly clean. I think it would take a lot of cleaning and polishing to get it back into shape. The sad part is that my cousin wanted to buy it from my unle so that it could be made roadworthy. However, my uncle has refused to let anyone do anything with it. I guess he doesn't want anyone else to enjoy his car if he can't.

67 Ford Galaxie 500

Sold it about 2 months ago for $2400. I was sad to see it go but I hadn't driven it much for the last 2 years and it was mostly taking up space in the garage. It was always fun to drive but I decided I wanted something that handled good and the galaxie was never going to do that. I still haven't decided what will replace it. I would love to get my hands on a 70-73 dodge dart swinger 340 4 speed or a 68 mercury cougar 302 4 speed but I'll probably end up with an 89-93 stang 5.0.

yes headlight doors are open, they wont work properly any longer...
but the lights all work fine, and the engine runs really great, since i put an Edelbrock performer intake/cam setup in it, along with hooker headers, flowmaster american thunder duals,HEI,
holley 850 d/p etc...

JC,

You are correct. The Super Bee was Dodge's competitor to the Plymouth Road Runner and had a paint stripe over the rear quarter panels and trunk lid. The Super Bird, however, did have the nice big fin on the rear. I hit Google and and was able to pull up some pics of a 1970 Plymouth Super Bird - which is actually "for sale" for the price of $62,500 - Pictures of 1970 Plymouth Super Bird for $62K

Funny what time does. I grew up with those cars and pretty much took them all for granted. Classic cars for us were from the 40's and 50's especially the late 50's with fin mania. I would love to get my hands on one of those late 60's Mopars now though.
