As fast as i enter a game (Half-Life, Quake2/3) under OpenGL my monitor refresh rate resets itself to 60hz, what is no good. This problem appeares under Win2k SP2/GeForce2/w2k-647 drivers/ViewSonic E771... I know it has something to do with OpenGL/Direct3D (same as OpenGL) driver settings, but i don't know where to adjust this stuff (dried every single tab under the Video Properties). Something to edit in the registry may be? Ideas?

Turn off v-sync. Also, I believe you need a registy hack to get higher than 60hz in W2k, but don't quote me on that.

my v7100 in win2k (no SP) runs keeps its refresh when entering(85hz).
should be
go to display properties >> advanced >> monitor
it should work fine, unless your monitor is junk. How do you know its at 60?

to adjust opengl and d3d properties
go to display properties >> advanced >> NAME OF VIDEO CARD >> Additional properties

or download a 3rd party tray program like NVMax

Ben88:
v-sync didn't help and i'm more than sure that registry needs editing, but where and what?

hungrypete:
If i wouldn't know it's at 60hz i wouldn't ask than. Monitor isn't junk and i know where are all the video properties, what i don't get is why it resets to 60.
