I just went to the local HD and they had a handheld 600 watt turbo vacuum for $16. I bought it and tried it out. It works very well and is pretty powerful.
I don't know if this is just at my local HD but they had a huge stack of them near the registers with a sale sign on them.
I think I bought the same one... If it is then Its "all that". Has a cord unlike most handhelds, and its got a ton of power. It has a nice selection of attachments, though they dont really store very effieciently. This thing is perfect for hard to get places such as inside computer cases ect.
the bowling ball test isn't a good one to test how a vacuum will clean...once you develop the 'seal' it's easy to lift quite a few heavy things even it the vacuum 'sucks' 🙂
These work well, but whenever I used to detail cars with a 'real' shop vac so much crap would still come out of the carpets...maybe they have improved since though.
