have a 570 1.25gb now, but games arent as great as they could be..
i saw the 2.5gb 570s are cheaper now, but also saw the 600 series looked nice, some of the 4gb ones... but quite expensive

Well, they are still relatively new and Nvidia is still having difficulties supplying the channels 100% so I would say no to a price drop for at least 3 more months.

The 680 has been out for roughly 2.5 months and the 670 about a month. 680s are out of stock everywhere and 670s are selling like hotcakes.

Prices won't drop anytime soon. If you want price drops then head over to the used market since most 6xx cards carry transferable 3 year warranties minus the month or two that they've been out.

Maybe when the consumer GK110 is released. That's the one I'm waiting for. I'll probably be getting three of them.

The only way the gtx680 and gtx670 will drop is if AMD intro's the new hd7970 and hd7950 at the same prices they're at now. And I seriously, seriously doubt the new "predator pricing" AMD will do that.

As long as people continue to spend stupid amounts of money for barely any performance advantage in the VGA market poor pricing will remain. The DX11 craze and AMD's poor showing with the 7970 have made things a lot worse lately so best to keep your 570 until you find a deal around the $300 mark. There are currently no single GPU cards on the market worth $400-500 dollars this round and it'll be at least a year or more until you see realistic pricing.

If you really think the 570 isn't fast enough you definitely won't be happy with a meager 20% boost. I've seen the 680 in action OC'd in BF3 and not even the 680 can keep up that well with MSAA in that game. It's a joke.

a 680 is about 50% faster than a gtx570. that may not be all that impressive buts it is certainly better than 20%.

That's what I'm doing.

Not sure who is more extreme, you or Don.

He dumps sli gtx670 cards and trust me they are beastly for a gtx690 with plans of a second one in less then 2 weeks and here you are with 3x 7970 cards and waiting for big kepler.:awe:

I admire you cause that is simply crazy but awesome at the same time as i know i am sitting on my sli gtx670 cards till a single card comes out with 25% more performance.

Most likely not gonna happen anytime soon. nVidia sells everything they can make. So unless AMD can do a miracle AND want to price lower. Then no, prices will be the same year out.
