UPDATE: The temp server is up again for 12 noon PST as for now. I'll have to get lunch, but after that, it SHOULD be back up for a more extended period of time.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT attemp to download the 400mb east file. Part of the image has been corrupted! The west file is fine. Remember, server going down around noon PST. I apologize for those I cut off last night but I needed to get home since school was closing.

I need someone who's downloaded the west pic from me to confirm whether it is corrupt or not. Contact me via IM please:

ok people, please help me out. I want to up the number of user access but don't degrade the dl per user.

BulletProof is showing me that ppl at getting ~ 270,000 KB/s with 5 users.
Can I add more users without degrading everyone's downloads?


edit: note, I'm not a computer wiz so I don't know what those numbers mean. I also would like to check my upload speed, which I think is around 1.5mb.

any reliable sites to test? that way, i can see if i am able to open to more users.
 
it you add more.. then you would be distributing the bandwidth among the members connected..

that would definitely slow it down~i think

Auto-retry worked like a charm. I'm in and getting average of 162kbps.

I think you'll need an FTP program, hzl_eyed_grl. Here's a link to a nice free one.

I use SmartFTP for my site. So I have that. What do I do from there? Just enter the addy? I've never done that before. lol

Sure, I don't mind. There were a couple of books (riddle types) that I'd been looking for and WombatWoman showed me the link to them a while back when I asked if anyone knew about them. So.....I used it for that. 🙂 Thank you!

Yea, just open up SmartFTP. Once it's open, copy and paste his IP into the Address box. In Login: You type in anonymous. You leave password blank.

StateTech. I don't know how your internet works so I don't really know what to say. Logically though, you can't have like 10 people download off of you and still be as fast as if 5 people were downloading off of you.

I would think the best thing for this would be for peopel to get it to set up their own FTP's so that a tree will form. I'll up an FTP once I get the file. I'll post the IP and Login and you could edit it into your first post as a mirror.

EDIT: Considering this file is so big, I WILL be converting it to JPEG format once I get it. I will select the highest grade possible in Photoshop so that no quality is lost.

I've been cutting users back once they are done since the server is going down soon.

For those who are dling, don't dl other file since the server is going down.
I'll try to put it up some time this weekend but I have exams so I'm not sure.
