I've built a number of computers over the years but havn't been keeping up to date on things in the last year or two. Let me know what you think of this part list. I'm not attached to any brand. I don't care AMD/Intel. I just want the best for the least $$.

Thoughts?

Rosewill ATX Mid Tower $30

Antec 300 is a decent, cheap case. Coolermaster RC 690 is good too as is the Centurion 5. If you don't mind spendin' a bit more, I love my Antec 900 :). The Antec P183 rocks too. Just avoid the Rosewill =/

Heya,

Some suggestions:

Way better motherboard, $5 more.. -- I would stick with the Gigabyte hands down over the Biostar!

HD5770 GPU, $15 more.

Enermax 500W Modular 80+CERT, $5 more. - the difference is apples and oranges at that level of PSU....

SamSung Spinpoint F3 500GB 7200rpm HDD, same price, better performance.. -- again apples and oranges....his chooice is just fine at that price point.

Antec 300 Illusion, $20 more -- a case doesn`t help your rig run any faster or slower.....get a cheap case and have more money foir the video card...etc

So you just got way better components for $45 more.

Very best, :)

:)

After taking into account a number of suggestions I have a revised build below.

Thoughts? I'm sticking to the rosewill case because it's cheap and I've used it a number of times before and never had problems.

I don't see an after market HSF in there. Are you going to be overclocking? I assumed you would be since it's a gaming rig and you're trying to get the most performance for your dollar. And not overclocking an X4 955 is just criminal. :)

Budget another $50 for a decent HSF.
