I call BS. There's not 600,000 provisional ballots in Ohio. And if there is, slice that number by 1/2 because most provisional ballots are invalid. That means Kerry still has to win over 60-75% just to tie. And that's theoretically impossible.

90% were valid last election in Ohio 🙂

Link?

I remember CNN stating this on TV.
NY Times

In 2000, even before the new federal law, about 100,000 people cast provisional ballots in Ohio under the state's existing procedures, representing about 2 percent of all 4.7 million votes. Ninety-one percent of the ballots were held valid.

Foxnews said it. 100,000 were cast last election and 90% of them were accepted.
Proof:

In 2000, nearly 23,000 provisional ballots were cast in Cuyahoga County alone (the greater Cleveland area).

Oops. I thought it said accpeted. N/M

Complete and udder garbage. They haven't even counted the provisional ballots yet. I live in Ohio, and watched Blackwell state in a news conference on the Ohio News Network that by his estimate there are maybe 175,000 provisionals.

Yep, and do the math. No way all the provisional votes will all vote for Kerry.

Kerry needs to be a friggin man and concede. Pretending to be Al Gore in this election is weak as sh1t.

Kerry will not win over 140,000 out of the 175,000 provisional ballots. Emveach, just accept reality and move on. Bush won.

Link for the 500000+ provisionals still out?

CNN reported 600,000 provisional ballots. And,. reports of people still voting in OH even!

And why can't the networks call NH for Kerry if they can ignore the provisional ballots and call OH for Bush?

600,000??
lol.. yeah right..
250K max, with 90% of that being 225000
bush is currently leading Ohio by 140,000

meaning Kerry would have to get 182500/225000 votes, or about 81% just to make up what he's behind now..

i dont see that happening...

VERY interesting.

Have a before/after screenshot? If true, that is extremely interesting. The reason I ask, is because they've been "updating" the exit polls all night...

From a post there:
Math clearly shows updated results are RIGGED...

... to reflect the vote counts that were reported.

First CNN exit poll:

1963 respondents: 47% Male (923), 53% Female (1040)

Males for Bush: 49% of Males = 452 voters
Females for Bush: 47% of Females = 489 voters

Males for Kerry: 51% of Males = 471
Females for Kerry: 53% of Females = 551

Second CNN exit poll:

2020 respondents (57 more than the first report): 47% Male (949), 53% Female (1071)

Males for Bush: 52% of Males = 493 voters.
Females for Bush: 50% of Females = 535 (and a half, I don't know how they rounded)

Males for Kerry: 47% of Males = 456
Females for Kerry: 50% of Females = 535 (and a half)

Hello? Apparently not only did they find an extra 57 voters HOURS after the polls closed to add to their **exit polling** results, but they LOST 21 Men and 16 Women who had voted for Kerry in order to make the exit polls match the vote count. Maybe they just decided after the fact that those people had actually said they voted for Bush and they misheard them... because Bush's totals went up by well MORE than 57 votes.

There can be no doubt, the update is bogus.

conjur, you are a cool dude, but I think you are seeing things that aren't there. That's not the first update they've done on an exit poll where the results have caused one candidate to lose votes. I've been paying attention to Alabama's all night, and it has taken away votes from Kerry a few times. Thanks for showing this, but I'm not sure what you are trying to say. They made up a new poll as part of a conspiracy?

I happen to want Bush to win. I voted for him today. I'm arguing with the idiot that said there was 600,000 provisional ballots out there.

When? I just rewound to 10 minutes before this thread was made and watched it on TIVO.

BTW, thanks to conjur and aimster to the links they have provided regarding the provisional ballots and the exit polls.

I just find it very interesting that people exit polled for Kerry have been taken away.

Apparently, the only states not approaching the exit poll numbers are OH and FL. Even Nevada was less than 1% different.

It's not 600,000. It's the neo libs trying to hang on to any shred of hope. It's about 1/3 of that, and Bush has a 144,000 vote lead. It's over.

I do understand your point. CNN is talking about the exit polls right now. They just admitted that their initial polls were in favor of Kerry. I guess if they are doing that then I don't see the problem. I'm not sure why it changed, Jerry, but obviously they aren't trying to hide it. I've never trusted exit polls even before 2000.

the numbers are almost the same in Pennsylvania (but flipped) , so i guess the Republican lawyers should fly to PA and start filing lawsuits there in the morning

if Kerry thinks he can squeeze 140,000 votes in OH, maybe Bush can squeeze 140,000 votes in PA

silly lawyers

CNN is specifically talking about Exit polls in OH right now. They are talking about their methods, who does the polls, etc.

i know that.. i just wanted to point out how ridiculous it is that many dems are holding onto such false hopes...

The problem with early exit polls are that they're usually made up of a majority of women, or people who don't work (early voters). The working men vote after 5pm, and tend to have more republican votes.

What I heard on FOX News Radio. Also, provo ballots end up in the 7% to 23% being counted and valid. Still not even close to the 140,000+ vote lead for Bush in Ohio and that's if Kerry/Edwards get all the votes say even at 25% vaild of the 130,000 provo ballots.

C-span doesn't 😛

I'm watching the c-span map and it looks like it's all up to Ohio, it's a make or break for either candidate, since Kerry seems to have both Michigan and Wisconsin.
