Sams Club has a huge 60" Philips Projection HDTV Monitor for just $1399.87. This is a very low price for a 60" HDTV. Search: 60PP9202

It offers a fabulous picture at a fabulous price. The picture-in-picture feature allows you to watch two shows at once and the three-line digital comb filter assures the best picture quality possible. Multiple input jacks, including both s-video and component, allow you to connect to your DVD player and TV signal as well as a VCR.

This is how much the set is selling for at my local BJ's.

People generally don't like Philips projection HDTVs because the screen shifts every few minutes to prevent burn in. It's very noticable, very annoying, and cannot be turned off.

Great find PicPOp! Like hallf, I have the 55" version for a year, same price. I'm very happy with it. Got cable hdtv, it's awesome to watch football games on, it's better than being there! Don't know what wag is talking about, never noticed any shift. A screensaver comes on when you pause stuff, but not for a few minutes. Got mine at BB (ouch!) got extended warranty, never had a reason to use. I wholeheartedly recommend this tv!

I have that TV and highly recommend it. My XBox games look sharp and they got me spoiled. The parts, panels, etc. are a bit flimsy, but OK.

Edit: Sorry, I opened my mouth before eyeing the web site. This is not the TV that I have I have the widescreen version. I alwasy have to be re-calibrating the tubes...

It's not widescreen?

edit: from amazon.com:
From the Manufacturer
This 60-inch, 4:3 aspect-ratio, high-definition television is capable of producing a full 1080i signal via an optional digital set-top box.

I have this TV and love it! The only thing that I can even think of calling a "con," is that its one of the last 4:3 aspect ratio big screen TVs. So you get the black lines when you want to watch HDTV or Widescreen DVDs. Otherwise, this TV is absolutely as clear as the 51H84 Toshiba 51 inch TV I have for my downstairs livingroom.

My BJ's has this TV and the 52" Panasonic widescreen model right next to it for the same price.

Tell Sam's Club to reduce the price to $1337 and there'll be full of 1337 people in the line waiting for that product. 😛

Now I see why it's so cheap...4:3 = not good...my 55 incher is 16:9, no way I'd ever go back to 4:3 after watching mine for a year.
