Trump is doing the celebrity thing, pumping up the interview. How many of his supporters would watch 60 Minutes without him selling it like this? The contents of the interview are an afterthought.

Traditionally 60 Minutes would devote 30 minutes to one candidate, 30 minutes to the other. It will be interesting how they handle it this time. For sure Trump will complain that they edited out the parts where he was brilliant if his portion gets edited at all. I agree that fact checking Trump is required for any valid presentation.
 
Truly amazing to watch Trump pass up every single opportunity to make himself look like less of a goon and appeal to non-base voters.

CBS firing back saying "Oh, we are going to release the tapes". I *still* cannot understand how anyone sees this child like behavior as "strong". There is no strength here. Just a hollowed shell of a human who's never accepted accountability for anything in his life.

My guess is that he’s betting people won’t actually watch it and will assume that since he’s releasing the tape it reflects well on him.
 
I like the part where he readily admits that he wants SCOTUS with Barrett to repeal the Affordable Care Act, like he thinks it'll be a big political win in the middle of a pandemic--something that White House Comms has been trying to deny for weeks.
 
The availability of the raw footage is a good example of how US media edits Tump into something approaching coherency when he isn't, like at all. Not even remotely.

If old man ranty sat down next to you at a bar and launched into this stuff you'd be getting the tab pronto.

Could be a library of Congress archival thing but yeah I agree. President is such a show man he probably had it specially bound for the interview.
