Here is a new bill. H.R. 3247 that authorizes 10 million for 6 years.
Sounds like more waste to me..

?House Science and Technology Committee yesterday approved legislation to establish a social and behavioral sciences research program at the Energy Department.
The Science Committee also approved three bills to focus DOE research on energy efficiency and advanced energy technologies through programs in advanced vehicle technologies, wind energy and natural gas turbines.

Rep. Brian Baird?s (D-Wash.) H.R. 3247, would authorize $10 million annually over six years to better understand why people make certain decisions about energy technologies in an effort to spur greater market adoption, he said.?

That sounds rather unnecessary. For that kind of money you could fund many Social Behavioural research programs dealing with many different aspects of the Science. Sounds like someone looking for the Perfect bullet proof Marketing technique rather than anything really important.

Wow, in the first link there was little but conjecture and surmise as to what it all means and in the second link they already know the answers because people make rational decisions.

I am not going to pay any attention at all to guessers or fools.

I'm glad congress is still coming up with new and exciting ways to spend money that it doesn't have.

Come on! We've cut to the BONE.. there is NOTHING we can possibly do to bring our deficit under control that doesn't directly harm people. The 1.8 trillion is absolutely the best we can do!

My god people, we're not animals here!

I kind of like it. Most folks could easily slash their energy consumption by 15% or more --- if they were willing to do it --- with minimal impact on their 'lifestyle'.

It's no surprise that the OP links go to:

1) Judicial Watch; and
2) The Heritage Foundation.

Right Wing Progressive Thought ??

btw - I'm on track to reduce my energy consumption in the range of 40% this year primarily by trading the AC for a big-ass whole house fan.

But my commitment is wavering - :p - I'm sweating my ass off (but I sure do like those $45 power bills).

Because absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Dems are drunk with power. People are incredibly naive if they think GWB fucked this country. Up until Jan of this year, perhaps. But no longer. The proverbial fucking has turned into a gang bang.
