Can someone suggest a good 7200rpm hard drive.. preferebly 60GB+..

I live in Canada so prices are a bit different... the one I'm currently looking at is a maxtor 60gb 7200rpm for about $144 CDN. Not sure about model.. cuz it's definately not retail..

Any suggestions?

Maxtor probably has the fastest drives, especially if your mobo supports ATA133. However, I chose the Seagate Barracuda IV because its also very fast and is very quiet.

Just recently got a Seagate Barracuda IV 40gb for $119 CDN....i swear i can't hear it, not a sound! that's with 2 comps in the room and with 1 fan in each.

You can always try the Maxtor fluid bearing drives. I hear those are alrite but of course not as quiet as the Barracuda's. Their idle noise is good though

Go to www.Storagereview.com and check for youself. WD 120GB/80GB Special Edition wins most benchmarks, just lags a little in access time, look at the benches.... they pretty much speak for themselves... your concern should be 120gb or 80gb?😀
