Wait till I get my Focus supercharged, I just got word F2 USA is working on a supercharger due out soon. Preliminary tests are showing 280+ HP with everything else stock, with an intake, race headers, exhaust, she should easily pull 300 HP.

You really need to figure out that I4's only have one header.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're either going to break ringlands or snap conrods or something at that power level.

Can I buy your police cruiser?

Putting my money on the pistons and cylinder walls becoming combustion material.

Im interested to find out what he runs with the charge pipe fixed. Around here a run like that would certainly not be indicative of 600whp. We have 400whp Subaru's trapping low 11's.

I believe there are a few Neons that have ~700 whp that have broken into the high nines (with slicks and suspension to match). Not sure when he goes to the strip again, but I'll update this thread.

Methinks someone doesn't know how FWD works. If the front wheels start spinning, guess what? You keep going in the direction you are going! Yay! Understeer is very easy to control (in a straight line).

As for the people who think that it will lead to a crash, it hasn't so far and it was at 400 hp to the front wheels. I drove it (albeit on the freeway) and I noticed no problem with torque steer. It is as Zerocool says. No traction is a worse enemy.

considering I have tracked FWD cars I am pretty sure I know my way around them.

torque steer starts, car starts to move to one side, then you LOSE all traction, and car continues to go the direction it just was.

if you dont know what to do next, you end up totalling the car.......

I would hope that since you brother already had this thing up above 400whp, he probably knows what hes doing.

I didn't notice any bad torque steer at the 400 hp level (at least not at the level that people say). The SRT-4 is made to minimize torque steer with equal length half shafts.

the one I autox'd wasnt too bad but it was stock

nothing compared to the ion/cobalts preLSD, they were awful. the LSD helped some, but still likes to try and step out

SRT4 + Stage 3 Mopar is what, < $15,000 ?

Stage 3 is very expensive but gives reliable power and requires no tuning at all. There's cheaper turbos that give more power but need to tune. SRT4's are very cheap and have sturdy engines but of course you have to drive a Neon.

I do trackdays, wear full gear, and never intentionally lofted the front on my 1098. I never got a ticket, never got pulled over, never had an accident. I bought the bike, had full coverage, obeyed the rules of the road (as much as any cage, anyway..). I started out on a GS500, put ~40k on it before moving up. I had many many bikes before moving up to a liter, and the 1098 was by far the best streetbike I've owned.

I've been pushed out of lanes numerous times, nearly sideswiped, ran off the road, rear ended (light bump at a red light), cut off on a regular basis, etc etc etc

I don't even believe you ride.

Would you like to make a friendly wager on that belief? Perhaps we could speak to one of the senior mods and set it up so the loser gets a three month ban.

Do you feel lucky?
