Wait, wait, wait, your brother wants to put the control of 700 rapid horses in the hands of his front tires?

Be sure to video tape his first ever launch, I always love a good crash.

yeah its called stomp on it at 60 and start a spin

Methinks someone doesn't know how FWD works. If the front wheels start spinning, guess what? You keep going in the direction you are going! Yay! Understeer is very easy to control (in a straight line).

As for the people who think that it will lead to a crash, it hasn't so far and it was at 400 hp to the front wheels. I drove it (albeit on the freeway) and I noticed no problem with torque steer. It is as Zerocool says. No traction is a worse enemy.

So my brother's car was dyno'd a few days ago. Here is the result.

Boost was not nearly at the maximum (wastegate spring was too small even with a boost control solenoid). Actual boost was 27 lbs, was aiming for ~32-34.

I'm betting even the way the motor is setup now, it wouldn't be up to the task of handling 700HP. Transmission probably wouldn't either lol. But, those numbers it currently has are impressive!

I'm going to cry just thinking about how you could have put half as much money into a car 100 times as good without trying. What a waste.

Meh. Its the fun of doing something different. Sure a terminator would be fun, or perhaps something like an older v8 muscle car, but those are rather common ways of going fast. It also helps that my brother gets parts for his car at shop cost (courtesy of where he works).

Speedy2, we shall see.

That's some serious power. Very impressive.

I'm dismayed at all the posts trolling the OP an his brother for doing this. I'm impressed with the OP for not responding to the haters.

FWIW - a current literbike is insane compared to this stuff.

I have a friend who bought a heavily modded 911 Turbo, and after my 1098 this stuff sorta bores me.

I am confused...very confused. Can someone explain to me how everyone is so excited that this guy is sending 700 hp to the front wheels?

Life would be pretty boring of every fast car in the world was a cookie cutter Terminator or Supra now wouldn't it?

Besides street lights, the majority of impromptu races occur when someone already at speed cops an attitude and tries to pass you (eg: from a roll), and from 40+ mph it doesn't really matter if it's FWD or not.

If you've ever own/driven both a slow beater car and a fast well known performance car, you know people will pick on you in your beater, and avoid you in your fast car. That is all the reason in the world for 500+ HP Skittles and Civics to exist.

Skittles?

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f111/why-srt-4-called-skittle-189560/

Freaking punk kids Actually, the Skittle name came from the tampastreetracing.com forum, back before there were any SRTs anywhere except for FL and CA. Except for a few nuts like myself, who flew/drove to FL to get them. Feb of 03.

A young man who posts here under the name Terminator was running around Tampa racing everything with wheels. And annoying the crap out the local V8 owners. First posted SRT-4 street racing vid was his, I think, first Evo kill too, maybe.

Someone in the Tampa crowd who had the car to back it up called Terms car a skttle, becuase it was colorful and "a tasty snack". It kinda stuck.
Some are not as easy to snack on as others.

As we started the thread, so shall it keep going.

Bikes are nice, but lack the utility of a car. They lack the safety of a car. Being able to carry yourself and multiple people around (with stuff) is great.

Kudos for having a fast motorcycle. An engine between your legs and not much else is a way to go very, very fast, but thats all it can really do. I'm not hating on motorcycles, but cars do have their advantages as well.

Oh, and you guys top out in max speed wayyy too early :p

I absolutely agree with you.. I don't know about the ops car, but in my experience the utility of these econoboxes w/ > 400hp is pretty much nil. You have to have a second vehicle anyway...

...and if you wreck at 150mph it's not gonna be pretty no matter what you're driving..

...and I'm just playing devil's advocate :)

Love how you can't talk about a fast car on this forum without people who drive < 100 HP cars bringing up liter bikes and Veyrons...

To be fair; I'm picking on the people insinuating that the op's car isn't fast compared to xxx car..
