The wife and I made a semi-last minute decision to go away (to Jamaica) for our 1-year anniversary. I work out pretty regularly (3-4 days a week) and I have been doing the Starting Strength program and I have been getting stronger.

However, I am wondering if there are things I can do to step up my workouts for the next 4-6 weeks to add some definition? I am going to up my cardio to 30-60min 4-5 days a week, but if I want to add definition (specifically upper body) are there things I can do?

EDIT: Should also mentioned I am making more of a point to eat more protein and less carbs.

EDIT #2: Should also mention I already have a good bit of definition in my arms. Would like more in my shoulders and upper back specifically. Around the midsection too but since I was once 300lbs (195 now) I have a good bit of lose skin that hides my abs.

Seeing more "definition" has to do primarily with lowering body fat percentage. This means that diet, not exercise, should be your primary concern. You can't really "spot reduce" - that is, lose body fat in one specific part of your body. Instead, you just have to make conditions right for losing fat and your body will decide where that fat comes from (most people lose weight fairly evenly all over). See the fat loss sticky for more info.

I know. I tell people all the time that you can't spot train so I felt like a bit of a tool even asking :)

Wasn't sure if I should do exercises that target those areas or just keep doing a full body routine and watching my diet.

Watch your diet most importantly. I would suggest trying some HIIT for cardio - would take less time and keep your metabolic rate up quite a bit for the rest of the day. You can keep with SS and watch your diet and cut quite nicely if you'd like. However, if it is actually the skin covering the abs and not the body fat, you may not be able to get much definition.
