$6 shredder at OD

All of the ratings are conservative. I've owned three shredders and not a one had ever burned out. I buy the cheapest ones I can find. The last one was a cross-cut shredder from OM that listed at 60.00 and I got it for 20.00 minus a 10 off 20 coupon for 10.00 total. I probably put through 300-400 sheets at one sitting. It locked up for a few minutes because of all the extra paper that was stuck. But I cleaned it off the bottom and it works perfectly. One of my cheapie strip-cuts from Fry's (<10.00 with basket), shredded enough to jam fill 5 kitchen garbage bags worth. It still works great. If it says 120 sheets per day, you can double that easily IMO.
 
I got an email confirmation for instore pickup, 4 hours from the time that the order was placed, during business hour. Yeah, I am good to go. By the way, the price have gone up to $44.99
 
I got the confirming email last night, then a phone call at 7:45 AM cancelling the order because it was an "internet price mistake". They were probably overwelmed with pick-up orders on this when they opened up today.
 

Damn, missed it! I have one of those crappy strip-cut shredders that I picked up two or three years ago for $10. I guess it gets the job done well enough. I normally take important items (anything with a bank account number or credit card number) and chop them up into fine bits on the floor and then vacuum them up anyway. (I'm a paranoid guy.)
 
I ordered mine for in-store pickup. Usually I'm pretty lucky with these things as I live in a relatively smaller town where computer nerds aren't in abundance, much less computer nerds that shop smart.

When I arrived to pick it up, they knew exactly what I was there for before even looking at my order. This was at 8:05 AM and they open at 8 AM. They were OOS at my location. Some lady bought 4 of them @ $6 the night before. FWIW, the lady tried to locate one at any of the nearby stores with no luck. They were going to honor the in-store pickup if they had stock. So if you did in-store pickup, try.
 
yea i got a call about 8 am today. they canceled my order. suppose to be 69.99 or something or another. i was 1/2 asleep anyways. But yea. oh well good try
 
I called OD's support w/ my order number and the lady told me that the order wasn't ready because suddenly the store was out of stock (the site wouldn't even let me place the order to pickup at my nearest OD because it wasn't in stock) so they must be "miraculously" disappearing and OD is unable to fill the order.

This is looking like time to visit Resellerratings... :|
 
I ordered 2, one for store pickup and one for delivery.

Showed up at the store around 7am. They gave it to me for $6 but they pulled the rest OOS.

The order status on the other one says: In warehouse

I don't really care if that one doesn't go through.

I showed up at the Lake St. store in Aurora, Il at 8 am to pick up a shredder and the Brother 575 fax machine ($30 with a $30 rebate in another thread) and the cashier said that corporate had just called and cancelled my order on both...

Congrats to those who did score...

Mmm...mine still says "In warehouse", eh I ordered 3 so we'll see tomorrow I guess (whether the delivery truck comes or not)...

On the other hand none of you guys got any type of compensation (ie gift cards etc) from them? I mean I'd think they'd at least give you a $10 gift card...
 
😀 I picked mine up at about 11 AM, They gave me a bit of a bad time, but they gave it to me for the $6
 
the manager did not honorred the price, he said the corporate sent him an email not to honorred the price. So he cancelled my order on the spot. I never got the cancellation confirmation though.
 
Order status online changed from: "In warehouse" this morning to "Delivered" 5 minutes ago.

Well since it's midnight here, it obviously wasn't delivered. So I'm guessing they won't honor it. Oh well...
 
They called me and said it was OOS :disgust:, but I had already sent my Mom an email with the receipt asking her to pick it up for me. Before I had a chance to stop her, she went in and they gave it to her! W00t!😀

Mine came this morning hehe. I came back from class and see 3 shredders infront of my apt door. Now I shall "shred fo life" lol...
