1- Calls for an independent Palestinian with its capital in Jerusalem

2- Stipulates that the Palestinian Authority should work to stop attacks from the Gaza Strip and West Bank against any Israeli targets, that Israel pledge not to pursue Palestinian militants and that the militants cease attacks inside the 1967 Green Line border

3- Declares tit-for-tat violence must stop "as a first step toward resuming the stalled negotiations"

4- Calls on Israel to refrain from measures that undermine the Palestinian Authority's ability to guarantee security in the Palestinian areas

5- Calls on Israel to release jailed Palestinian leaders as "a basic step to prove good will and promote trust between the two parties"

6- Calls on Israel to stop incursions into the West Bank and Gaza

How many do you agree with ?

None of it. Run the PLO and its varients back into the desert. Time has run out for appeasement measures. Time for Israel to grow a pair and get it on. Hezbola does not recognize any other alternative.

To the victor belong the spoils. ;)

Arafat rejected that idea already (Camp David 2000). That was a major sticking point with Barak's offer, along with the lack of a provision for the so-called "right of return", and no withdrawl from the settlements. While I can understand the last point, the others simply do not make sense, and Arafat did not negotiate or compromise. He simply rejected the deal. Big mistake.

I should add that most Israelis probably wouldn't be very happy about a split Jerusalem, but I think they would deal with it.

lemme make sure I understand these proposals:

Release the jailed criminals who murdered innocents.

Promise not to punish any future criiminals who murder innocents.

Reward the brave martyrs (who died while killing innocents) with a kingdom.

Well, this is a toughie..... I just can't seem to decide if this sounds like a good plan or not....

He added that Egypt, fearing opposition at home, was not interested in leading the Palestinians into a new era, but was hoping for a period of quiet ahead of any American attack on Iraq.

Even other Arabs want nothing to do with them.

If Israel agrees to those ridiculous terms, it will be the end of them.
As a nation divided and...essentially...defeated, they will be defenseless against the other militant Arab states who will fall on them like a pack of ravenous wolves.

Historically speaking, a policy of appeasement has never brought real peace, it just buys one side a little more time before the inevitable.

If they waiver now, they're finished.
