I bought one cheap off ebay last week, cost about £2.50 including postage. (Just bought a x1900 but it didnt come with the adapter! so i had to nick the one off my 7800GT, which i intended to sell on ebay, but couldnt do so without the adapter :))

i will explane why.

1st - power supply line for pcie comes with 6pin, that line have dedicated 19A power.
2nd - Molex line from psu is 4pin, and its shared, and IT IS 17A power....
3rd - moust pci-e cards need 18A for stable performance...

My video card dont have 6 pin plug, it have 4 pin molex :( .. so here is the problem

What PSU are you using?

If it only has 17A@+12V, then you should definitely upgrade.

What video card is this?

I can't figure why a PCI-E video card would not have the PCI-E power connector.

I suppose it could be an older early version PCI-E card.

If your card needs the 5V and 12V lines that the 4pin molex connector has, then I am not sure the PCI-E connector can be adapted easily since it lacks the 5V line.

Just plug a normal molex connector in there. Tuck that connector away somewhere. You wont be able to convert The PCI-E connector to a standard molex like that because it dosent have a 5v line. What PSU are you running?

I dont think video card is using 5 volt, but it is possible. i will have email to XFX support.

With that PSU, you should be fine. Just plug one of the normal molex connectors into the card. That psu is modular so you wont even have to plug in the PCI-E connector.

With a card like the 6800 GS I really wouldn't worry about using it on its own cable. If you were using a more powwerful card that was alot more power hungry sure but not a GS card...
