6 month average with Iphone 4S on VZW, my data usage = 42mb!

Last month I used 24mb! And this is with the Unlimited data plan (there is practically no place where I'm at that doesn't have WiFi). I'm over paying, should I call and moan for credits?

Whats your average? (used Myverizon's account tool thingy to calculate)

I bet verizon likes you as a customer. I don't think they will do anything if you call them except offer to downgrade your data plan. You can try though.

Why don't you just go prepaid (page plus for verizon prepaid). $30/mo 1200 min, 3000 text, 100mb of data. Could be less if you buy refills online. Or they also have $55/mo for unlimited talk, text, and 1gb of data.

It seems like a bit of hassle and might not even be possible to activate a iPhone 4 on pageplus though.

Or go to att prepaid with the iphone. It is easier to get working.

I use about 1.5gb on average on my iPhone 4 on straight talk.

Easy to use an iPhone almost 24x7 even on 3G and use only a few hundred meg a month at most

My wife is always on her phone and uses less than 100mb most months

Same with Android, I use my phone all the time but since I have wifi coverage at work and home I never come close to maxing out my 200mb data plan.

I use around 500+ MB a month, but last month I used about 1.5 GB.

I would have used more, but my data plan is 1 GB.

However, part of the reason I can sometimes get to the GB territory is because I sometimes tether the iPhone (which is fully supported with regular 1+ GB plans in Canada, on regular iPhones).

I use at least 1GB a month on ATT but most of the time I am bumping up against my 2GB data cap.

I don't even get LTE coverage yet.:sneaky:

I average around 20MB a month; was a bit surprise that it would be this low; but to be honest I have wifi at work and at home I use cable for inet. Even when I travel I might use a few MB at the air port; but there is wifi at the hotel.

I suspect folks who watch a lot of videos in non-wifi areas of tether a bit use the bulk of the data.

I average about 2GB on my AT&T unlimited plan, but some months I'll use less than 500MB and others I'll use over 5GB, do it just depends on what I'm doing.

I expect AT&T to move people off unlimited starting this year if they decide to renew their contract. I would have done it two years ago. I don't see people being able to keep their unlimited data plan as a major motivation for staying with AT&T.

It's actually super easy, I activated a phone (a dumbphone, mind you) on Page Plus last weekend. Went through an eBay authorized dealer, they activated it within 10 minutes for $1. I've heard Page Plus might hesitate to activate iPhones now but it's just a matter of finding a dealer who will.

Once you do, all you have to do is send them your ESN, tell them if it's a new number or if you're porting your existing number, and give them your name. That's all I had to send. Then you can buy a plan from their website. That $30 100MB one sounds good.

Word of warning - if you have them port your number it will immediately cancel your Verizon line! So make sure you really want to do it and you won't get slapped with an ETF.

NYC we have the subway so you have to carry your music with you

if i listened to a lot of music in the car, id be looking at spotify premium instead of streaming

I use about 100ish MB\month since I got this android phone in Jan 2011 on VZW. Outside of a rare youtube watching I have my exchange and gmail pulling data.

Really not very much for a month.

Word. I'm the opposite of the OP, I use 5 minutes of calling a month, maybe 40 texts, and 6+GB of data.
Do you people not stream music in your car? Or leave your urban comfort zone, ever?

I have similar usage.

Maybe 20 minutes of calling, Maybe 100 text messages(almost all recieved), but I use on average 7.8GB of data per month.

I don't keep music on my phone.

I just stream music, I don't tether or download very large things really.

I'm at 200 mb / month, the wife is a bit higher. We both have unlimited. Funny part is that her son, who is not on unlimited, runs right up to his 4gb limit every month.

I average around 1gb a month using wifi at home and 3g/4g everywhere else. However, my service is pretty bad at work which makes the phone pretty much useless there.
