[furiously clicks smileys hoping for a link]

Good thing I am riding my bike more. I can now ride 2 miles at an average speed of 12mph without getting tired.

The media is trying to keep a lid on the impending shortage of refined products. About 1M barrels a day worth of refined products could be lost in the next couple of weeks if feedstock issues aren't addressed 2 days ago (meaning a major fuel crisis is coming soon to a neighborhood near you).

Links?

You want media links to stories about media coverups?

Sorry, no links. My handle is too traceable.

I am just hoping Forbes was right. I'd like to see this oil bubble burst so I can afford to drive again =)

Give me 3 weeks, and I'd be up to 15mph, good for 2 hours. At 2:01 though, call 911

We have lost over 15% of our refining capacity I think. Prices are insane. SHouldn't last to long though. But fi I pay $200 for 25 gallons, I will start shooting.

I got some gas today before it was raised from $2.79 to $2.99. I don't drive a SUV/Truck, and its getting too expensive to fill up. With people saying gas is $4, $5+ in other parts of the south east, this is getting serious.

Why did many major news sources say the oil operations were not harmed due to Katrina?
'Harmed' and 'shut down because an entire state lost electricity' are different things.

Today in Central NJ

Morning: 2.59-2.69 regular
Evening: 2.79-2.89 regular
10:00pm: 2.99-3.39 REGULAR

If it goes to $6 a gallon, i'm taking out my big wheel

And the fvcked up thing about that is these motherfvckers are raising the price on gas that they already have in the tanks in the ground. That same gas in the tank that cost 2.59 yesterday should still cost 2.59 tomorrow because it's already paid for by the station owner. Fvcking crooks and pirates, that's all they are.

at this point the prices are going up because demand is so great. Think PS3 on eBay. WAAAAAAAAAAY over retail price. It should go back down soon, atleast down from $6 to $3 or whatever.

photoshopped.

did anyone ever think of the difference between 87 octane and premium gas?

2-3 yers ago, it was like 1.49, 1.59, 1.69
now, its 2.79, 2.89, 2.99

if anything, shouldn't the difference between the 3 gases be now 20 cents? more like 2.79, 2.99, and 3.19? 😕 the difference between different grades are not proportional to the prices itself.

so say when gas reaches 14.99/gal for regular, premium would be 15.19 instead of 16.99?

Jim Tudor, president of the Georgia Association of Convenience Stores, said panicky drivers are the problem now.

"Atlanta's not out of gas," Tudor said. He said there may be outages at some gas stations, "but it wasn't because there wasn't gas available. It was because there was a run on these stores."
