Damage now being reported.

Edit: Damage in Paso Robles and back to a 6.4 I been in lots of these but this one went on and on. Shallow so damage tends to be local. Felt all the way to Santa Rosa. Really a widespread effect.

Interesting, thousands of birds launch into flight in Moro bay before the quake was felt by people.

Transformers blow along the freeway.

Quality Excellent
----------------------------
Quality Excellent? I wonder what that means.

edit: Um, that means:

To assist non-seismologists in evaluating the reliability of an earthquake location, we assign a "quality" to each location. It is based on the values of Nph, Dmin, Erho, Erzz, and Rmss (described below) for the computed earthquake location. The quality is given as "excellent", "good", "fair", "poor", and "unknown" reflecting each contributing seismic network's definition of how the quality relates to the above values. For example, parameters for an earthquake located by a global seismic network might result in the assignment of an "excellent" quality, whereas the same parameters would result in the assignment of a "poor" quality had they been calculated for an earthquake located by a regional seismic network monitoring an area the size of Los Angeles. We assign an "unknown" value if the contributing seismic network does not supply the necessary information to generate a quality.

I see that the love you loudly profess for American doesn't extend to all Americans.

what kind of liberal slander is this?
San Simeon (Hearst Castle, aka Xanadu) is a treasure, the pacific coast between Big Sur and San Simeon is absolutely stunning. It is a tragedy. How you can spin and twist my statement of concern into a vituperous personal attack upon me just reaffirms my view of liberals.

I felt it all the way down in Los Angeles area (Long Beach). Felt like a mild rolling motion. I turned from my PC to notice all of my window blinds swaying gently back and forth. Must have been pretty strong at the epicenter. I know my parents just left yesterday for the Central Coast. Not sure where, but they usually are in the Cambria area... Yikes. Doesn't sound like it did too much damage from the preliminary reports.

Oh no Xanadu is crumbling!
Real funny Cscksucker, some of us have family there!:disgust:

You got family in Xanadu? I don't know where that is.

A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
They call it xanadu
(it takes your breath and it'll leave you blind)

And now, open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We are in xanadu
(a dream of it,we offer you)

A million lights are dancing
And there you are, a shooting star
An everlasting world and you're here with me
Eternally

Xanadu--xanadu (now we are here)
In xanadu(xanadu)
Xanadu--xanadu (now we are here)
In xanadu

Xanadu your neon lights will shine
For you xanadu

The love, the echoes of long ago
You needed the world to know
They are in xanadu
(with every breath you drift away)

The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to xanadu
(the dream you dream, well it will happen for you)

A million lights are dancing and there you are
A shooting star, an everlasting world and you're
Here with me eternally

Xanadu--xanadu (now we are here)
In xanadu(xanadu)
Xanadu--xanadu (now we are here)
In xanadu(xanadu,xanadu)

Now that i'm here, now that you're near in xanadu
Now that i'm here, now that you're near in xanadu
Xanadu
