Sure... I could get this or I could get a nice Polk LSi for the same kind of money.

ROFL is all I have to say.

$6,000 could get you a nice AVR, some great floorstanders, sub, centre and 2 rears... and probably a budget for a nice TV/Gaming monitor.

I'd struggle to pay more than the $150 equivalent on a soundbar.

Admittedly, the thing looks awesome. Lot of good technology in it. And it most likely does sound amazing. But you could build a nice component system for a lot less.

I can see this thing being worth 1500 or so if its as good as it made out to be. But 6k is just a *bit* far fetched.

what a load of marketing drivel.

With 6k$ you can build a full home theather system with good bang for buck.

Audio is always priced like that. You can buy something that LOOKS impressive at a mass merchandiser for maybe $100. Or you can do your research, look up and read the reviews, do listening tests etc and buy a very good soundbar for a couple of hundred dollars that delivers 99% of the quality this one does. Or you can go whole hog, spend maybe a grand and get one 99.9% as good. Audio has always been priced so that to get the very best you have to spend far, far more. It's to suck in the braggarts who have more money than they know what to do with or those with dog ears and big money bags.

No thanks.

There's a valley of price between what's good and what's great. Thing is, there's some really 'good' good stuff that most people won't notice the difference between what's great, so to them it's not worth the money. That's most of us 'hear' (pun intended)

Not sure why this is in PC Gaming, looks more suited to the audio/video overspender crowd.

I would never spend $6k on a soundbar. With that money you could have a top of the line gaming rig plus high end ultrabook.

Obviously soundbar customers are those that don't want to setup a full separate component system mounting speakers everywhere, especially those who can't get into their ceilings etc and don't want to run cables around edges. There is a significant market for soundbars and the $1k+ models are actually very good on Atmos stuff considering they're a single package in front of you. Can they replace a full separate speaker system? Of course not, but they're a serious consideration nowadays for those in need.

That aside.... $6k

And yet AVS gave it best of show, rather than just a review that it's nice but not close to worth the money.

So, maybe it's worth the price. It's all relative of course.

Because it's made by Creative labs, and could be used for gaming.

I once bought the best soundbar (Yamaha YSP-4100) that normally sold for $1800, but before ever opening it it was burglarized as part of $5000 of stuff I had stolen.

Young drug addict woman who knocked on the door sometimes I'd help with a burger or ride.

Turns out a serious career criminal.

Wish I'd gotten to hear the one I bought, to see how good it was. Only soundbar I ever bought. I've had speakers for a decade I haven't hooked up yet. After I fix or replace the tv...

U g l y spells ugly. High end audio can be like that I guess. Wilson's Alexandria looks like the love child of a kiddie car seat and a refrigerator.

Am I the only one waiting on those things to say "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!"? For that matter, am I the only gamer who hasn't won the lottery?

For the record, I paid $5,000 for my 650 Ninja - brand freakin' new . . .
