WTF is wrong with Bell? Why would anyone ever pay for this product?

I live in a city of about 40,000 people. You'd think ISPs would be not extremely shitty in my area. I guess it's 2001 where I live or something.

The phone company doesn't want to sell just Internet access. They want to bundle it with a phone line and possibly TV service (Satellite or IPTV) as well.

What's the cable TV provider in the area offering?
 
I have told Bell that I want IPTV but they can't get it to me because the line is limited to 5mbps.

Cable is far better, but pricing is still stupid.

For $65/mo you can get 30mbps/100GB

Cheapest advertised unlimited plan is $85/mo for 100mbps.

We have a 3rd party that provides 35mbps unlimited for about $77 all in.
 
Bell is stuck in the internet dark ages. Look into one of those indie ISPs like Teksavvy or MySignal. I pay $59.95/mo for 25mbps and unlimited data.
 
I'd go for the 35MBps unlimited plan.

100GB isn't enough to use any streaming video services like Hulu or Netflix. Hell, I bet some casual HD Youtube viewing could throw you over the cap.

Yeah we currently have the 35mbps unlimited. I'd obviously like faster but 35 is plenty for us. I like to shop around and see what is new in the area from time to time. Every time I do, Bell's plans just make me angry.
 
Most areas served by the incumbent providers have TPIA alternatives like TekSavvy, Acanac, Electronic Box, V Media, just to name a few of the many that are out there these days.

I am partial to TekSavvy, but there are definitely quite a few options out there if you search for them. You aren't stuck going with Bell, but just know that any third party provider you go with will be at their mercy in a number of ways. Some of which can directly affect you (technician availability when you need one).
