Are you referring to the connection on the iPod? In that case, it is 6pin.

Yes it is 6 pin cable. Very nice since it will charge the battery without the need for AC adaptor

You can just use a 4pin adapter or a 4pin firewire cable. The only feature you will lose is the ability to charge through the firewire port.

Personally I would just pickup a firewire card for your pc. I picked one up for $12.99 shipped at www.computer123.com. Its the one with the TI chipset, and charges my ipod flawlessly

Hi. Just received my order from Apple for the 5GB model.

Here's what I observed:

-case is brand new
-cables, charger, ear phones are brand neew
-packaging is brand new, box was sealed

This is a great deal.

Can anyone post me a link to a cheap firewire card for my PC?

now to find a deal on a firewire card.

Go find one of those Sound Blaster Audigy's on clearance @ OD....they have a FW port on them. Supposively clearing them out for $25.

The Audigy SB's are awful with iPods. Do not use the Audigy.

Adaptec 4300
OrangeLink
seem to be the better choices.

i use the audigy 2 firewire port w/ my 5gb ipod and it works perfectly.
