5900XT to 6600GT

I'm getting ready to upgrade my video card because I'm getting a mobo with PCIe. Currently I have a GeForce FX 5900XT. I plan on temporarily getting a 6600GT PCIe until I can afford the next-gen NVIDIA GPUs. I was curious to know if I would lose any quality since my current card is 256 bit and the 6600GT is only 128 bit. Any thoughts?

the 6600gt will destroy the 5900xt. i had the 5900xt and have the 6600gt in one rig. its not even close.

you'll definitly have better performance but is it worth spending the money if you are only going to keep it a few months, i think that is the question.

A 5900XT is still a pretty good card. I would wait it out a bit longer and try to get the money's worth out of that card.

It funny cause I remember I bought my 5900XT when it was brand new for like $200, and now I'm going to buy a BETTER card for like $170. Craziness.

I wouldn't go as far as saying 6600gt will destroy the 5900xt...
yeah you'll get better performace, but nothing that's worth spending your $$$ on, unless you really need to (as in your case moving to PCI-E)

Runs something wtih PS2.0 through both those cards and tell me the 6600GT doesn't destroy the 5900XT.
