Circuit City has Panasonic CD Player with MP3 Playback and Digital AM/FM Tuner
Brand/Model: PAN SLSV550 for $59.99

It does not have full tag display, only numeric.

Headphone is ok, not great as usual; long battery life is a plus.

this is the MSRP, btw...

I bought it 1-2 weeks ago when BestBuy let you use a 10% off coupon on it. Nice player!!

This is a repost and the reason I am posting to mention this is that the old thread revealed that Panasonic will be releasing a CD MP3 player here that has a text display. I'm waiting for that one... But if you don't need that, this is supposed to be a great player with awesome battery life (in my opinion).

Older thread with lots of good info.

Can you give some more information on this new CD/mp3 player?
When it'll be out and the price? These $50 players are really tempting
especially if it's from a brand name like Panasonic. I wanna get one
mainly for use in my car. Cheaper than putting in a new receiver/CD.

Also, how do you navigate 700 / 5 = ~140 songs with/without a
text display? Never used a CD/mp3 player before. Can you create
playlists and stuff, or just random/linear playback?

SleepyB: I could type in a bunch stuff or you could read the thread I linked to above your post. I know which I'd rather do. Regards 😉

I got this CD player at BB a few weeks ago and so far I'm very happy with it.

Each folder is considered an "album" and the files play back in alphabetic order. You can move back and forth between tracks and albums.

this was almost 3 weeks ago.the price is still 59.99, so it's retail price.

Man, I couldn't have said it better myself. 🙂

This isn't a repost. This has a tuner, your post didn't....
