5850 Aftermarket cooler question.

I'm getting a Sapphire 5850....I have a Duorb VGA cooler on my 4850 which brought down my temperatures drastically. Is it possible to use this cooler on the new 5850 or is the stock 5850 cooler good enough and does removing stock coolers void warranty? The duorb brought the 4850 load temp from 83 to 56 deg C......I've only had it for 4 months and wouldn't like to waste it.Duorb model number is GL-GO102.

You could use it

It would void your warranty

The stock cooler works well and is pretty quiet so you may not need to

I'd recommend downloading msi afterburner and using the custom fan profiles. The default fan profile on my xfx5850 wasn't aggressive enough and allowed temps to get to high imo (~86C for hottest part of core). Now the core loads at 69C w/ fan at 37%, and rarely jumps to 40%.
