I know of one. Call your local cable company and get cable.exe!

J/K. I remember being on dial up. It sure must suck. Can't you get cable in your area? Or rather, DSL? You really should invest in it if you can get it.

When I was on dialup I tried all the tweaks and never particularly found any of the "boost" programs to work. You can get little gains by changing some reg settings but it's not a big difference.

I have the same opinion, no matter what you do to tweak your dialup, it's still a dialup connection, 53k downstream and 33.6k upstream (until v.92 came out).. it's the physical limitation. some other program will try to cache pages/images in your HD, but if you like me that go to a lot of different places and new places everyday, it'll never work.

The new Opera 5 browser allows you to load the pages without the image until you let it load, it's a good alternative way to browsing, bypass most of the images.. (well, I'm 95% satisfied with it...)

No matter what kind of tweaks you apply it's always going to be a dialup connection and won't exactly be very fast.
That said, if you want to improve your browsing speed you may want to try out the Opera browser, most people consider it the fastest browser.
As for the so-called "download accelerators" I tried lots of them when I was on dial-up and I only found one that managed to work semi-consistently.
That being Download Accelerator Plus 4.0, it usually seemed to help my download speeds slightly, but depending on the server your d/l from there were the occasional times where it would actually be a touch slower with it too.
