I can connect any time morning or day with no problems. Between 6:10pm and midnight, seven days a week, I continue to get dropped every 30 seconds. I have turned off all scheduled maintenance programs in XP and all other installed programs that I can locate. The phone company checked and says it is not their line. I have tried two separate modems; an external USR 56K V90, and an internal Prime Periperals 56K V90. I have tried disabling error control and flow control in the modem settings. I tired another computer on my line and it connected with no problems. I also took my system to another home and connected with no problems. Weird to say the least. I am using and AMD Athlon 1.333CPU on a ASUS A7A266 MOBO. Creative Labs Sound Blaster Gamer 5.1 sound card. A SCSI Plextor CD-ROM and CD-RW through an Adaptec 2920 SCSI card. Also have a Creative IDE 52X CD-ROM installed. I have been on line for 6 years with no problems. This problem may have started when I installed Win XP Profession last month with a clean install. At least it was around that time period. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am stymied. Any suggestions at all I will try.
