I have been trying to run a 566celeron at 1020mhz on a BM6 mob. It will boot into windows and play Q3 a little then locks up. If I try 2.05volts it will not even post. I have a 533celeron which will run at 2.1volts without problem on the same mob. I just wonder if anyone had the same problem or is it just my cpu?

What kind of fan are you using?

I am asking because I am wondering how high I can take my celeron 566

2.05 volts on a coppermine is a little too high for my tastes, i wouldn't leave it there. unless your 566 is the old care, but i think intel only made 566's with coppermine cores

At 1020mhz. your fsb bus speed is 120 which means your pci bus is at 40. Some periphials don't like that speed.

At that speed your 533 is using a lower pci bus because of the 8x instead of the 8.5x on your 566.
So what is your cooling method to keep those things comfortable at 2.1volts?

I am useing a Global Win Fan with a copper shim and with a 80mm case fan blowing into the heatsink. The 566cpu will not post at 2.05volts at any buss speed, even 66mhz. The 1020mhz at 2.00volts was just a test for fun. It will run at 1020, 2.00volts at a ambient temp of 50degf, case open and one stick of ram in the slot closest to the cpu and will play Q3, however at 70deg ambient it will load windows but lock up on Q3. It runs very stable at 977.5(115x8.5) and 1.95volts and 935 at 1.7volts. Great CPU. Just wondered if anyone tried above 2.00volts on the 566.

I've used 2.10 (abit softmenu says 2.05) to o/c my C2 to 952mhz. Its not stable under win2k.
So if you already tried 2.0+v and its not stable chances are the chip reached it limit.
