I agree that 1GB may be enough, but at $15 more, who could complain with 2GB?
If that is the only consideration, no, 15 dollars is not a deal breaker. I paid that much extra myself to get a particular cooler. Then I paid another premium, to get the same model at a later date. Sometimes there are other concerns than quibbling over saving a few bucks.

Looks like the egg has 2GB 460 GTX's from EVGA for $215 each, at this price i would almost be tempted to just go ahead and buy 2 of them now, though my wife may consider removing my man parts if i do....

I prefer to game at 1080p as single monitor is the way ill always wanna role. If this will be able to handle games such as BF3 and Skyrim, then hellz yes, 460s here we go.

I wouldn't buy a card that was that old of a design, considering we're on the verge of the next generation as we speak. The 560TI is nVidia's modern "fixed" (fully functioning GPU) 460. Since you want to hang onto this build for ~2yrs I wouldn't go with the older design and you might want to consider 2Gb cards. 1Gb is mostly fine for now. Not too sure it will hold up 1yr+ from now though.
