I'm looking a couple of treadmills. They say if you're 6'1" or over you should look at 60" treadmills. I'm 6'0" and 24yo, so I don't know if I'm going to grow much more or not. The difference in price is $450 (adds 5" plus some other features). Is it worth investing in the 60" model or will I be fine running on the 55"?

Do you run with a long stride or a short stride? I'm your height and I probably have a medium stride, and I've hit the back of my wife's treadmill in moments of lazy running. I'm not sure what hers is officially (or how they're supposed to be measured) but from measuring it I believe it's between 55 and 60.

I'm 5'11" and I've run on both. 60" definitely provides more of a comfort zone if you slack off a little. 55" is fine, and I've never fallen off, but I've come close a couple of times in moments of fatigue.

In addition to stride, it also depends on where you run on the treadmill (towards the console/towards the back). I'd try the 55" (can be easily found at gyms) and see if you're comfortable with it.
