Excellent TV is you are looking for a basic 55" UltraHD Smart TV set with an integrated Roku player:

The next cheapest 55" 4K smart TV I've seen is the HiSense for $650, and the next cheapest 55" 4K Roku TV I've seen is the TCL for $700. Note that the TCL has the premium Roku features (ex. headphone jack on the remote). This is just a nice basic TV set (no 120Hz, no 3D, etc.) with some futureproofing (4K) & a Roku built-in. Sceptre does have a non-smart 55" 4K TV for $400, but adding a 4K Roku would run you another $120, so the Insignia is still the best deal if you're looking for what is imo the best budget 4K smart TV setup on the market.
I typically don't like smart TV's because the interfaces are garbage & manufacturers usually quit supporting the software before you even take it out of the box (haha), but a 4K Roku should last well into the future & has a great family-friendly GUI. Regarding this particular model, my dad has one of these as his television/computer monitor & it is a pretty dang nice picture for a store-brand model. Note that you will need a computer with HDMI 2.0 to take advantage of 60Hz @ 4K (4K on HDMI 1.4a only puts out 30Hz, which gives you mouse lag, so then you have to bump it up to 60Hz @ 1080p, which looks bad because of aliasing).
Oh and also, the speakers are excellent, no need for a soundbar unless you want to add bass. Great volume & clarity. I believe these are the best TV speakers I have ever heard, actually. btw, if you need something smaller, the 43" is also on sale. The 43" 4K Roku TV is currently $379:

I have a 43" mounted in my kitchen, along with a $99 palm-sized Kangaroo PC & Logitech K400 wireless keyboard with integrated trackpad. Nice infotainment system for pulling up recipes & putting on some background music. Like I said, the speakers are great, they fill up my kitchen no problem.
