since I missed out on the planar 17inch lcd, I've really been looking for a good deal on an LCD with good specs and good reviews. this sucker didn't have the DVI input (it's just VGA), but for 150-200 less than the other stuff I was looking at... it was hard to pass up.

I'll keep you all posted on how this thing acutally preforms in FPS, normal everyday use and for watching DVD's.

also check out the Corona MP704 from ...eCost.com. $550-$50 rebate so $500 shipped. Just got it yesterday and it is impressive. TV card looks sweet in full screen and high contrast ratio on this monitor and brightness too. Also like the black border on it.

Costco also has a Sylvania with good specs for ~$500 as well.

any updates on how this lcd performs in fps and dvds?

trying to figure out which would end up being cheaper, buying from staples w/ the $100 coupon but having to pay tax and possibly shipping, or else getting from amazon w/ only a $20 coupon but free shipping/tax

if only there were some way to get amazon to accept the staples coupon....

does amex blue pricematch w/ costco?

I am signed up for staples' business rewards, and i got the coupon in question via that. I think that is mostly the same as the dividends.(although that might be for stock holders ..) THey send you a bunch of stuff by mail and some email too if you want it. on monday there was a 70 dollar rebate on the 15 in and the 17 in envision lcds. i ended up getting the 15in for 160 AR.

oh, regarding dvds etc, i have my xbox running through a tv card to the 15 in lcd. I have had no problems playing games or watching dvds on it.
 
Thanks to riznick for the info about getting it at Staples. I just tried to get one and it's OOS. I called and was told it was discontinued. Unless you can find one at a BM you're SOL. :disgust:
