hi guys,

i've decided that i'm just gonna keep my asrock board for now and just upgrade the cpu... i'm considering the 5400+ BE. is it possible to get like a 3- 3.4 on this chip system specs are currently:

asrock an2nf6g-vsta (bios updated for chip in question v2.30)
2 gigs corsair memory 2x1 4-4-4-15
zerotherm nirvana 120 HSF
430w psu generic
8800 GT sc ed.
80 gig WD Hdd

so what range am i looking at... havent seen anyone with this chip on the forums...(searched)

with these specs i hope to hold out till probably next march - april when i'll have more finances to work with...

thanks

p.s : suggestions welcome for a new board also under 60 usd if possible...

Like he said.......not a good idea!

But most of the 5400+ BE cpu's should easily hit 3GHz with good cooling from what i've seen. Would be a nice upgrade till Deneb's hit next year. :)

Considering the 5000 BE was an easy OC to 3.1ghz (just change multiplier to 15.5) in my friend's PC, I'd think 5400 BE should be capable of slightly higher.
