It didn't stop XFX from using the XXX designation on some of their cards. I'm pretty sure the pr0n industry had that one tied up years ago.![]()
And remember how for a while, nVidia appropriated the "XT" suffix to indicate low-end versions of their cards? This at a time when ATI was using XT to indicate high-end. I guess they figured they could pretend that XT meant "good" and convince people that an XT-badged card was worth buying (after all, it sounds way cooler than "LE" or "GS," for whatever reason).
