Well, I've said this would happen all week. Boies is putting the Dem. spin on their side and, of course the Rep. spin is going too. Now, the thing is, what is making all the local newscast, papers, etc. (at least in the Midwest) is that the recount Gore went to court to get, and reveled about how fair, and good it was after the decision was handed down, won't abide by it. Headline on one station was "Gore refusing to acknowledge own recount numbers" ....... What I'm wondering is how bad this will look in the publics eye.......a St. Louis station (KSDK) has already stated in commentary that it appears it is now time for the Vice President to "hang it up". They have also stated that Mr. Gore will address the nation tommorow.......IMHO this is a risky move......if does not come across well (which he has had problems with) his public opinion could be all but gone! I'm sorry, but, you know if it's already going on here, it's going on almost everywhere else also........The recount has happened as they wished....Miami/Dade decided they could not finish in time and that appears to have been within their rights if you read the FL law........PBC could not complete in time frame applauded by the Dems. earlier in the week......and Mr. Gore has still come up substancially short. Now they (Gore Leiberman) will be sueing Democratic Counties in FL....that can't be good PR, and several renouned lawyers have stated that the mere fact that the USSC has accepted Bush's appeals, and the Constitution appear to make it clear that he (Mr. Bush) has a very good chance of winning there too! I personally don't think that the Democratic party will let this drag on much longer.....maybe Friday/Saturday at best. Who knows....but I think it is now "semi-officially" over!
