well not bad considering a sli rig is around 11,000 :)

cpu (athlon64 winchester) clock: 2414mhz
graphics card (6800nu nv41) clock: 450mhz/840mhz

this is using 71.84 Xtreme-G drivers
not sure if this is an 'amazing' score for my card or not

Futuremark 3dmark05 ORB
link showing settings and score

this isn't with any 'exotic' cooling, etc...

here's forceware settings:

Antialiasing: App-controlled
Anisotropic: App-controlled
Image settings: high performance
VSync: off
force mipmaps: none
conformant texture clamp: off
extension limit: off
trilinear optimization: on
anisotropic mip filter optimization: off (should that be on?)
anisotropic sample optimization: on
negative lod bias: allow

Wow, even though I do not rely on 3dmark for hardware performance analyse, it does a great job comparing systems to each other. Its just a little fun :). Your score is damn good for a 6800NU setup! Mine is slightly higher, and I have a better GPU.

My 6800Ultra is supposed to be Nvidia's latest and greatest, but your 6800 clocks faster than mine! Mine runs 440mhz stable, but I use 435mhz for everyday settings. 450 is insane from a "mid-range" GPU.

Using Nvidia's 71.48s (not these modified ones), what would your score have been?

thats hard to believe...insane
my 6800GT seems to have some problems at anything over 400MHz, even with a VF-700Cu.

Its not that surprising if it is a 'true' nv41 it has similar vertex/pixel shading abilities (6vp) but due to your clock speed its more powerful than an ultra. Fill rate limited situations it will of course be slower (6800gt levels)

AFAIK, there are no extra pipes to unlock in the NV41: 12 pipes and 5 vertex shaders, period (not sure about the ROPs: 12, too?). It also seems to upclock nicely, judging by xtknights' OC and the similar chip powering the GFgo 6800U in the new Dell gamer laptop.

I'm really not sure. I haven't tried 71.48.

Those clockspeeds are what Coolbits recommended to me. 3dmark05 did not crash, the other day one game crashed for the first time in months, but I doubt it was due to the graphics card. I've had it overclocked for months too. It's impossible to tell. It's running at about 60C at those clock speeds (load) and 45C idle. Just regular fan and everything.

The NV41 is by specification 12 pipes so there aren't any more to unlock. So nope :(

What are ROPs? Is that something else unlockable or you mean pixel pipelines?
Does anyone here have a score for an X800 XL and Athlon 64 system?

Thanks for all the compliments 'cause I wasn't sure if this was any good or not. I can't imagine what it would be if I put a custom cooler on it but I'm not going to bother. It plays fine for the games I play (rather 'old' ones like Wolf: ET, soon Wolfenstein 2 and Quake 4).

If anyone wants I can benchmark some games like half life 2, doom3, quake3, wolf:et, possibly far cry demo.

By the way, does it matter what settings you use in the forceware control panel or does 3dmark 'take it into account'?

I read on some thread 'high performance' mipmap was the standard for 3dmarking.

My settings:

Antialiasing: App-controlled
Anisotropic: App-controlled
Image settings: high performance
VSync: off
force mipmaps: none
conformant texture clamp: off
extension limit: off
trilinear optimization: on
anisotropic mip filter optimization: off (should that be on?)

Not to impressed, last time I saw PCI-E Nu's on newegg for like 350, considering you can get a x850xt for 499 and get better scores.....

what's your point? this isn't just a performance contest. they weren't $499 3 months ago (when i upgraded), if there was such a card. most good-brand x850xt PEs are over $500 on newegg. right now the card i have retails at $289. that's almost half the price for, what, more than 2/3 the performance? besides, new features come out and it justs ends up being money wasted if you're like me and don't need all that for current games.

if somebody had a x850xt pe wouldn't you say they were stupid because they could get twice the performance (6800U SLI) for twice the money? well actually that would make more sense than the former.

alright, if the 6800nu were to be $350 now then that comment might make more sense, but it still yields less than linear performance for price (i think). however since i don't see anybody with exactly my system config except for an x850 i can't prove that.

but, no it wasn't the most price conscious choice i've made but i didn't have much of a choice 3 months ago. the x800xl would be a better deal but then again it came out retail less than a month ago, beyond the scope of my upgrade. i wouldn't buy a 6800NU NOW if i were you. the x800xl would be a much better choice. i hope you see what i'm saying.

i'm not trying to flame you and appologize if i took that the wrong way (maybe you didn't realize what my goal was) but i just thought that comment was a bit 'odd' no matter what thread it's on.
