let's see

right now i have AIW Rage128 Pro AGP and i'm thinking about replacing it w/ something little bit faster

budget is around $30 - $50 & i know there aren't that many choices but what will be a good card get?

i was thinking about fx5200 but i've noticed that lotta people thinks it's a bad card?

is it even worth getting 5200 over 440mx?

Here are some better options, if you want to spend a bit more, you can get a Radeon 9200 for $65 Here or a 9600 for $95 Here. I just wouldn't reccomend an mx440, or 5200 to anyone, i've owned both, and although they are fine for casual gaming, they just don't "deliver" You could do more with a 9200 than a 5200, and a 9600 would be a very nice upgrade from your AIW 128 pro (which i also owned ;)) If you must get an MX440, I would get this one, Gainward Happy huntng! :)

The 9200 sucks almost as much as the 5200, I can't see why people are recommending it. I'd go for a used gf3 or a ti4200 64mb.

non sense. read some more reviews ppl.

5200>radeon 9000/9200 or gf4 mx440
5200 ultra>9000 pro or radeon 8500

Also the 5200s have dx9 support, but they may not be fats enought to run it in a game, they still have it. Heres what i dont get. ppl are angry with nvidia for not having dx8 in gf4mx series, then when nvidia puts dx9 in the mainstream series, ppl say it is too slow to support it. Well i got news for you all, it is a mainstream product not a midrange.

^ I doubt the 5200 "ultra" is faster than a Radeon 8500...

if it is, i am very surprised.

Let me change my vote to 5200.

Umm. Have no idea why I said 9200.

Try and see if you can get an 8500 for cheap. They rock.

Test your luck

I would recommend getting the 128MB version of the card. This card is faster than those other cards. It will leaver them in the dust. Performance is compareable to Ti 4200 Geforce3.

The 5200 Ultra and 8500 perform very similar, but the 8500 wins more tests by about 5fps. The 8500 is also cheaper.

just get past your budget concerns, and spend a little more for the 9600, problem solved.

What's wrong with the charts? Easy way to look and see how the different cards perform on a system. Don't see any comparison charts here ran on one system with just different video cards used.

radeon 9100 or 8500LE

both should be slightly higher than your set price range but nonetheless a lot better than your stated choices.

You really should wait for price drops when the next gen comes out or buy the lowend next gen cards which will probably be in the $80 $90 price range.

I would wait a little, and save up some more money, or for prices to fall. But, if you still want a 5200, I have one just sitting around that I'll give you a good deal on...
