The scary thing is so many people are counting down to this that crazy shit is going to go down because people are going to....go crazy.
Scarier is that some of them are looking forward to it like it's the greatest thing ever.


Ordinarily, that would qualify such a person as a mentally disturbed sociopath.
 
What no one ever says is why anyone would beleive the predictions of a group of jungle dwelling natives with stone age technology. They couldnt even predict their own societies demise, how can we be expected to believe their predictions about the world.
Just cause I write up a calander that ends on Dec 31, 2011 doesnt mean that we will all die in 9 days.

On a constructive note, it has reminded me to be a bit better prepared for disasters such as hurricanes and natural disasters, or even societal disasters, such as anarchy, war or a pathogen release.

Lots of folks believe the predictions of a group of desert dwelling natives with stone age technology so why not the jungle dwellers too?

People believe the Mayan predictions because their calendar was so accurate at predicting other astronomical events. It's not just a list of the days of the week.
