$52 a month for Comcast Broadband?

My mother said it was on the evening news. $52 a month for broadband? Are they nuts? Sheesh, $40 a month is enough. Hopefully this is the rumored "Gold" plan with higher bandwidth caps. But if it's the same 1536/128 service we have now (which costs more than the old @Home 3000/1200 service), we are getting screwed.

i wouldn't mind the higher cost if we could get some decent bandwidth! my cable has been dying all day, I wish comcast could just be reliable for once. lets see, slow, unreliable, comcast has it all. If only they weren't the only broadband provider in the area

Just switched from Comcast to Wide Open West. Prices start from $20 up to $40($35 if you get digital cable). Gotta love competition.

I've been using comcast internet for a year. I'm paying around that price now; not exactly sure what it is. The upload speed on this, any way you cut it, is total sh*t. The download is fine but the upload is intolerable. I'm moving tomorrow and thought I'd give bellsouth dsl a go - I have no doubt it will be significantly faster although it's also $49/month.
