512MB Mushkin BASIC PC2100*WEEKEND SPECIAL $ 95

whats the difference between basic and performance? i am thinking of purchasing this but wondering whats the differnece in the two..

I would have gotten on this deal last time they had the special going on, but it says, "This module is tested and guaranteed to work on motherboards based on the AMD 760, VIA Apollo KT266, VIA Apollo Pro266, ViaP4X266, ALiMAGiK 1 and SiS 735 chipsets. Not guaranteed with Asus boards."

So would it work with a Asus A7V266? It's a Asus board which they don't guarantee compatibility, but it has the KT266 chipset which they do guarantee it to be compatible with.

I can wait though because it seems like PC2100 DDR prices are dropping, even Crucial's.

to buy or to wait... i am still wondering whats the main difference between basic and performance. What do you get for the extra $35 if u buy the peformance ram?

I got in on that deal from Z-buy that is still here and active. 256 for $42 after shipping. It is Crucial memory.

I would rather have 2 256's than one 512 so I can swp it into another system if need be. But hey, to each his own 🙂
