512mb 6800 ultra

I researched these cards as extesively as i could being a non tech guy and ive found 2 things. Ultras are hugely expensive and gt's are much less expensive.

the only difference tween this card and the gt i bought is its pci express i bought a 8x agp and the clock speeds are 50mhz difference and i only paid 325 for my card.

You got a 512mb 6800gt for $325? 😉

Holy shit, that's way to expensive for a consumer level graphics card, f uck that in the ass.

Plus, OP, 6800gt ultra? 😉 just 6800 Ultra surely.

Hell no. The resolutions to take advantage of that much texturing just aren't gonna happen with reasonable framerates, especially with many people dropping down to 1280x1024 LCDs. 512mb is just unnecessary.

i wonder what the latencies are going to be for the extra memory

and for 2000 dollars you could have that in SLI
