I just recently put togeter a shuttle system for my mom. It uses the shuttle sk43G barebones system. Its a Socket A that uses the VIA KM400 + VT8237 chipset. For some reason when i put a 512 MB ddr dim into it it only shows up as 448 mb. I swaped dimms and get the same results. A dim that shows up as 448 in the shuttle system shows up fine as 512 in my computer and also visa versa. I upgraded to the latest bios and still have the same results. Has anyone seen this happen. Could it be a bios setting? if so could someone point me to what i might look for. Or is my MB just messed up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.🙁

are you using onboard video?

if so it is probaly shared with your main memory

so 64mb is for your onboard memory and the rest for the system

Oh, That makes sense. Yes I am using on board video. I didnt know that it reserved the memory for the video, I thought it just took what it needed as it needed it. So i guess that There is no problem? Thanks.
