512 MB PC3200 DDR 35.99 +4.33 shipping

this cheap crap usually doesn't fare well with any Athlon 64 system.

it is not a nforce3/4 incompatibility, it is purely a Athlon64 memory controller compatibility issue (or should i say the memory controller rejects crap)

i had a pair of Geil 256's, the blue heatshield set on newegg with 2.5-4-4-8 timings. unfortunately they wont pass prime95 at 166 or 200mhz with any combination of timings, yes, i tried 3-4-4, still crashy after a few hours. this was on a nforce4 system. i tried them out on my nforce2 system (shuttle sn35?) with same result, except crash after 7 hours. however, if i didn't run them in dual channel mode (what they're for) they were completely stable at 3-4-4.

i tried them on my friends 865 system at 2.5-3-3-12 (recommended 12T for this board by anandtech) and they were completely stable at 166mhz through prime95. i sold them to him 😉

I'm using this memory in my file server with a PCChips mobo and it works just fine. Great up times and no crashing. But i'm not overclocking.

specs:
mobo - "M811LU" KT266A PCChips
memory - 1 x 256 mb WINTEC AMPO 184-pin DDR PC-3200 and
1 x 512 mb WINTEC AMPO 184-pin DDR PC-3200

Snagged a pair. Ordered 3PM yesterday, here today! I wonder if I would have got it faster if I paid the $2.99 rush ordering? Puente Hills to Diamond Bar - walkable, sort of.

wow. ram prices just keep dropping and dropping. i'd get the kingsmax deal however, since the specs are the same, price is relatively the same, but it supports dual channels.

//krunk (^_^x)

Can you plug the dog in?

I now tend to believe ddr prices will go down at least as cheap as flash, and most likely a little cheaper (like it used to be before flash crashed).

Heh sounds like a good idea, I should just hook him up to a 550 watt PSU and shove a burner in his butt, too bad the memory didn't make the dog any smarter...
