500W ultra X-connect $55 AR @ frys

just coming back from the burbank frys, couldnt find the 485W enermax for $50 in stock but i did pick up a 500W Ultra (modular) PSU for $55 after a 30 MIR, there was atleast another 25 left

I was able to get one:thumbsup:. Otherwise I would jump on this deal. But I would really prefer to get one with LED light.

yeah, the enermax was my first choice but i'm not too dissapointed

however, i must say the x-connect is a bit difficult to work with as the main power cable is pretty rigid and though to manuever

i forget which psu test it was, but on slashdot they had a link to a recent tests of psu's.... the xconnect caught on fire.

maximum pc gave the ultra psu a 4 in recent roundup. Antec, PC&C got 10

Prices on these are dropping like flies.

You can find it just about anywhere for about $55 after rebate.

I'm wondering if Ultra is liquidating their power supply division and trying to get rid of all of these or what.

I've seen an equal amount of good and bad reviews, all you have to do is google. I would expect nothing less than a 10 maybe an 11 for the price of a PC&C. I am not an Ultra fan or user, I bought a defective unit and returned it, however, there are alot of people with high power systems that are using them with no problems at all. just to be fair and balanced

Im running the X-Connect 500w from the $39.99 AR case and psu deal Tigerdirect had last week... So far so good... According to Speedfan here are my voltages:

VCOREA: 1.63
VCORE B: 1.65
+3.3V: 3.34
+5V: 5.13
+12V: 12.28
-12V: -12.28
-5V: -5.15V
+5VSB: 5.56V
VBAT: 3.02V

Im not sure if these are ok, but it is consistent... Im just an average user... no overclocking...

I bought one of the reg ultra 500watt ps when frys had it for 55 plus 50 rebate.

First one I bought made a loud high pitch humming noise so i returned it. Second one has been working perfect for few months now. Also I still have yet to get my rebate and its been well over time.
