I second biostud. Anandtechs roundup showed the samsung being the most quiet and coolest running HD. In terms of performance it was in the middle between the WD and the Seagate. In most games and real world applications we're talking about miliseconds though. I checked it all out, coz I had to make the same decision, and in the end bought the Samsung. It's been running fine for a couple of months now.

I' ve got the samsung as well. Cool, quiet and reasonably quick. I've bought 2 more to update some of the other PCs I have.

look here for some comparisons on drives. me i have the YS in my system right now, it got real high reviews and comes with 5 year warranty. newegg currently has them for $129.99 Western Digital Caviar RE2 WD5000ABYS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
