500 mhz cpu and PCI Video Card

My friend got a rather crappy computer, one where processor can't be upgraded without replacing motherboard, so he decided against it, and is gonna buy a new computer "soon" (his words) but untill then he wants to do some gaming on his old rig. It's one of those HP (Pavillion 7360 I belive) with on board video. I told him I can add better video card, but there is no need to go overboard. So I was wondering since so many video card is cpu dependant what would be a good choice for a PCI video card? Would GeForce4 MX PCI be too much? Any recommendations?
P.s. He is not one of the connoisseurs of computer graphics, as long as frame rate doesn't drop with every shot and it's not pixalated like doom, he will be happy.

what os is he using? what kinda games does he play? what is his budget?

i think the gf4 mx is ok. some might argue it is overkill for the cpu, and that there are cheaper solutions for his cpu. but i figure... when ur bud gets his new computer... the gf4 can always either migrate over, or serve as a backup.

if he does not want to spend $75 on the gf4 mx tho... there is sdr radeon pci... and voodoo3 as well. normally, one of the first cards i think of when asked about pci cards is the voodoo5, but i don't think that card will fit into an hp pavillion case.

OS-Win98
Games-FPS
Budget-He didn't care too much, but let's say he might have second thoughts with price tag above $100

I am running a 500MHz Celeron + GF2 MX400 and can play RtCW @ 640*480 silky smooth.
That's basicaly all he wants. On second hand though a friend of mine has problems with MOHAA:Spearhead with Celeron 700 + GF 2 MX @ 640x480 (but I don't think his MX is 400)

I am happy with it.
Maybe a Radeon 9000 PCI is faster?
